7950 3way crossfire in asus p9x79 pro motherboard

One of my friend i building gaming pc with 3way-7950crossfire in asus p9x79 pro motherboard  with 4930k cpu and liquid cooler with h80i

he wants to know does the board need additional power to run 7950s or the default 24pin is enough as asusp9x79 pro does not have addtional power.

Why 3x 7950's?

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Peripherals: Logitech G19 and SteelSeries Sensei RAW

Toshiba L50-A: i7 4700mq, 8gb, 1TB HDD, GT 740M 2gb

It would make one hell of a mining rig. Otherwise i don't see why he would get 3x 7850. 7950  :D

will it work properly man in 3 way crossfire in asus p9x79pro will the motherboard not crash he is planning to overclock to 4.4ghz to 4.5ghz cpu

tri sli/crossfire is crap in general

i would recommend you a 780 TI or a non refference 290

yeah if the computer is just for games tell him to go for a single card that's the same price as the 3 7950's will get performance I think
