Hi there, i'm wanting a new PC setup to play modern games however i love laptops too much and refuse to spend over £1000.

My idea relies on having a powerful desktop and an external monitor (or tablet) with a keyboard and mouse potentially at the other side of my house. The desktop would simply act as a hub and I would be controlling everything via the "laptop".

How viable is this concept and is it as simple as using google desktop software to connect them together?

I have not experimented with this idea but i doubt it is an original concept and would hope to get some answers on this page.

I have a photo a dell touch monitor which is a good example of what i would want to be controlling my PC with as it is portable and has usb drives in built for keyboard/mouse. The monitor should not need great specs as it is piggybacking off the pc.

The purpose of this is to generally to play like a laptop with the specs of a desktop.

"Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life.

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.
