Futureproof?

planning on building this:

intel i7 7700K

MSI GTX 1080Ti Sea Hawk

16gb DDR4 G.Skill Trident Z RGB

MSI Z270 Krait Gaming

Phanteks Enthoo Pro M RGB

Corsair H100i V2

Corsair RM750X

 

along with some of my old parts:

Seagate 2tb 7200rpm HDD

Kingston 240gb SSD

 

How long will this last me for playing the newest games at ultra or max settings with 3 ASUS MG248Q 1080p 144hz 1ms monitors?

 

Any recommendations?

You mentioned that you had a 4690K, I'd stick with that for now since CFL is on the way.

An estimate, 4 years.  The word "futureproof" is basically slang and misused.  Nothing is "futureproof" and will eventually be too slow or fail.  A recommendation though is to spend EVEN MORE and get a coffee lake i7 8700k

Probably a year if you insist on staying at ultra/maxed settings at 144hz.

 

With those kinds of monitors set up like that, you really should consider going SLI, which would buy you some more time.

Coffee Lake. Hexa-core i5 and i7. The i5 will likely do better than the current i7's.

Then you may want to consider reducing your expectations. 5760x1080 at 144hz is very demanding, especially if games are being played at ultra+ settings. 

 

Aim for high settings instead, and you might be able to squeeze a couple more years out of the 1080 TI.

CPU's don't usually drop in price unless they're doing poorly and the holidays are around the corner as well.

im kind of an FPS whore so I might just use one monitor to game I guess or just lower anti-aliasing which is annoying anyways
