Win 10 activation

So when i got my new pc i downloaded Windows 10 pro 64bit from microsoft to a usb (as usual)

i got into the windows setup and typed in the activation key i got from ebay (very reputable seller) the system accepted the key then booted but then i get into windows i have a watermark in the corner of the screen that says that i need to activate windows.

When i go to windows activation in windows it says that i can't activate windows because my key is not valid, i have no idea on how to fix this "problem"

It means the key, when checked against the Microsoft database, was found to be fake, invalid, etc. so for whatever reason it's been invalidated you'll need a new key.

Yeah, I had to call them twice already after installing Windows on a new drive in the same exact rig. Once the automated system was able to make it work, the other time I had to be routed to a real person and back to the automated system.

The key is fake, already used or is one that isn't transferable, as mentioned by Lurick.

See if you can issue a refund with eBay. You got scammed. Sorry.

As the famous saying goes: When something is too good to be true, it usually is.

If you call microsoft they usually resolve the issue unless the key is fake. Ebay sellers usually provide new keys for no extra price if one fails as well.

^ yes, but it much better getting legit key from microsoft or from other buyers. I had no issues with methods which I can't mention, it is very easy to see if it fake is the price of the key.

You should ask the buyer to refund you, if he doesn't create a request with screenshot of the key saying it invalid key and you want refund. You will received your refund, you really don't really have show proof but just have it in case the seller/ebay asks, but in my experiences most of time seller will refund and ask you leave positive feedback but don't.

You should also report the seller to ebay, and i found out all the seller i have report selling "key" for other software have been banned, even though the key is working but for most software it illegal to resell keys.
