Should I wait?

Hi, I was planning on building a computer but for stuff, I won't be able to get ahold of all the components until december. I was planning on buying the components one by one if a good deal shows up, however I was wondering if this would be a good thing to do, especially with RAM, graphics card and CPU. Since it is predicted that RAM prices start to normalize, volta will show up and who knows what ryzen will be released all in early 2018. So what's your opinion, should I build the pc component by component if a good deal shows or would it be better to wait until early 2018 to buy them, especially RAM, CPU and GPU.

GPU - Gtx 1080

CPU - Ryzen 5 1600

IMO, snapping up deals as they come along is the best way to buy a new-parts PC. When you play the whole "wait for X" game, you find yourself either overpaying for X because everyone wants it at release, discovering that X is totally underwhelming and you should have just bought the thing that was on sale two months ago, or both (looking at you, Vega).

Covfefe Lake is coming which I think will beat the Ryzen 5 in gaming (obvs) and maybe almost get it in rendering.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

A select few people know exactly what it can do.

That's what I was thinking, needed some reassurance tho. Thank you.

Other side of the coin. Buying parts that can't be checked out for several months means a warranty return at best rather than a merchant exchange. Besides, memory, ram and storage are pricey at the moment and gpu are not only expensive buy the top end can be hard to get.

Even if you were buying everything today, I would suggest waiting a month or so to see if Coffee Lake delivers on the promised 30% performance improvement. The wait is relatively short and the performance bump if it materializes would be significant.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

If you're not building for a few months then don't buy yet.

EDIT: Unless you get a good deal on something, of course

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Yes, I was thinking in good deals like if the 1080 got to around 450 dollars (in my country the normal price is $600) and things like that.

Yes, the warranty is probably the biggest downside, but like I said I'll support AMD ryzen at the moment even if Coffe Lake delivers. Thank you for the answer tho.
