Sound Card for $50

Go to solution Solved by MayflowerElectronics,

Was looking into getting new headphones as well. I want to spend around a 100 but could go a bit more

Take the $50 you were going to waste on a sound card and spend all $150 on headphones. What country do you live in?

Hey guys,

I've heard about the glory of getting a discrete audio card. I'm not a big sound guy but I do enjoy nice clean audio when gaming and listening to music. I'm wanting to know of its worth it to spend $50 on a sound card when I mostly game on my rig and most importantly, which one to get.

Thanks guys!

P.S. I use headphones not speakers

You don't need a sound card. Buy better headphones first. I invite you to read the audio FAQ.

We don't know what headphones the OP has?

Unless he has some LCD-2's or HE-500's or some other end-game headphone, there's always room to upgrade.

I know that.

North America

Ah, you can probably pick up some HD 558's or AD700x (if you have a big head).
