Getting whine out of car sound system

TubsAlwaysWins

Ok so my car sound system has some wicked alternator whine. I know its coming from my head unit, not my amps (all my speakers are on amps). I know because whenever I unplug the RCA's from it it goes away. Ive tried things like RCA grounding and such. Anyone know how I can get cleaner power going into my head unit? Im not sure if its coming from my constant 12V or my ACC 12V

Like if I put a capactior or something in line with it?

It also gets worse when I break

You can install a noise suppressor on both constant and accessory power lines if you feel that the noise is coming from the power side.

Example:

You can also try installing RCA ground loop isolators.

OK thanks ill try that

You're welcome. Make sure that all the grounding points are good too. Alternator whine can be very difficult to diagnose at times.
