GPU - GTX 970

 

I dont know why im running x4 instead of x16. 

 

Also happened when I had another motherboard before. This has been a long problem.

nvidia GPUs don't even support 4x so you are probably fine.

Really???? LEL. But what about the screenshot from GPU-z? i even updated it cause maybe it was bugged. Is there any other software to see the bus interface

you can usually see it in the bios somewhere. "pci-e link bandwith"

How about you get a benchmark up and compare to results online to see if performance is limited.

Sure they do, you can run them even in x1 if you want. They just don't support SLI below x8.

PCI Express modes change dynamically based on bandwidth needs to save power. It'll go up if you need the extra bandwidth. Realistically you may never see it go up though since games hardly use any PCIe bandwidth, generally speaking.

is that while gaming (or under any load) because there is a link power saving state thing that windows does. You can turn it off by following the steps below

 

1. Press win + x

2. Power Options

4. Change Plan Settings

5. Click Change advanced Power settings

 

6. Expand the PCI Express tab and find link state power management

 

7. Set to off

If you click that question mark, it'll even ask you about running a quick bench on the GPU so that it can spin it up and put it's link to full operational speed.
