new build What do you guys think!

CPU - Ryzen R7 1700

 

Motherboard - Asus X370 CH6

 

Ram - 32 GB corsair vengeance 3000 MHz

 

Cooler - Noctua NH D15 SE

 

Gpu - 980Ti wind-force edition used with 2 year warranty (at half the price of 1070)

 

I currently have

GTX 970

128 gig SSD

750W psu 

4 TB worth of SATA drives for mass storage

 

Currently i am running AMD phenom x6 1100t Be System with  8 gig or ram

Seems like a good build. If this is for gaming, wait for Coffeelake.

For animation and modelling, from my friend who is in college for animation: "the graphics card doesnt really matter much, it uses like 20% of my 980ti while it pins my i5 4690k at 100%, at my school they have i7 3770s and have integrated graphics, cuts down the process time by like 4hrs."

blender and vray can now use GPU acceleration

I dont know which program it was that he used, but it was about a year and a half ago that he said that. Either way if they use cuda accel its different from gpu accel, cuda doesnt matter as long as its the same arc, like a gt 1030 to gtx  1080ti will get the same perf with cuda.

that's good news for me looks like i made the right choice by going with 980 ti
