hdds HDD for new Build

So I am going to be building a few computers in the next few months and want to know if I should go with Seagate Barracudas or WD Blues, as I have seen good and bad for both. I need 1TB models and don't want to go over $50.

Seagate has bad reputation due to failing drives and such.

I personally use WD Blues and they work wonders

I have a few of these and they are all amazing. I get about 150MB/s read and around 100MB/s write. 

 

I always go WD for its long life. I currently have a Caviar Blue 500GB with 6.5 years of power on time in my gaming rig.

I got 3 Seagate external HDDs die on me on a sudden and I eventually put the last one (4th one) aside so I dont have to risk losing another one again even though I have warranty. It's just so annoying.

 

HDDs arent high tech stuff, so cheapers ones from Hitachi or Toshiba should also work fine (Seagate excluded). I've got 4 Toshiba 1TB 5.4krpm HDDs running in the family's multiple machines. So far lasted 4 years without error. They are noticeably slower than WD Blues (not that much), but since SSDs became mandatory for PCs and hold OS and apps, HDDs' read/write speed dont matter as much as they used to.
