r9 290 for performance, 760 for shadowplay gsync etc?

kinkywink

is it possible to run an r9 290 for general performance and at the same time use a 760 for shadow play and gsync?

i havnt heard this question come up in any topics so dont flame if its already been asked..

im wondering this because i want better performance then 760/770 but not at the cost of a 780 or 780ti.

You can't run a r9 290 and a 760 together, this was since made impossible since the hd 4000 series?

For recording with a low performance hit you could use D3Dgear, which uses less resources on you pc but its not the same as shadowplay as that is done on the gpu, but you can actually record at high frames and resolutions. Also you could buy an external recorder which would cause no performance hit, you are only going to need HDD/SSD space for the files.

As for G-Sync, As long as you have a 120hz or higher monitor you don't need gsync.

You can get a nice 120/144 hz monitor for a good price.

Also g-sync is probably going to put another 100$ or so on the monitor you are going to buy.

what about physX?

PhysX is only used on a very small amount of games and can be considered a dying tech. unless you are really into the few titles that use it, there is no point

Most physx can run on the cpu, like Batman, Borderlands, Mirrors Edge etc.
