After skimming this video a 1060 should be decent, what do you guys think?

How long should it last for because I can get a 1060 for like 250 vs 400-500.

Actually surviving? At least 4 years, assuming you treat it well and keep it within a reasonable temperature range. 

How long will it remain competitive in this market? 

At least 2 years. Games are currently on a trend towards being more CPU intensive, so you shouldn't have to upgrade it for at least three years.

Yea just how long it'll last before i'll need to upgrade.

Duh, just trying to cut cost the 1060 runs just fine I don't need top of the line gpu.

We'll see what happens with the sales on black friday if a 1080 drops to 300-400 i'll grab it up if not i'll prob do a 1060 or 1070.
