Which smartphones are considered as "armored"? I am looking for something that will survive dropping, throwing. Screen has to be hard as rock too.

The Cat60 is a very rugged phone. Screen is a bit low resolution though. Oh and it has a thermal imaging camera built in.

get a nokia =) 

 

I currently (for a little over 2 years now) use a Lumia 830... It dropped onto ceramic making some chips come off but stayed whole without a scratch... just like every nokia the backlid goes flying off, but else it is build to last... I blame nokia phones for all the potholes in the streets...

Nokia makes a good sturdy phone but none are marketed as tough, they don't break easily. I have never been able to damage a Nokia smart phone. You can also look into the Motorola series of durable phones. But there are several different brands, you can look into just do a good quick search.

Mostly today though any decent smart phone with a good case will be durable for the most part.
