How to clone drives with different sectors

HexagonIi

Hello LTT forums!

I recently purchased a new Seagate Barracuda HDD to replace my media PC's old HDD. Unfortunately, I ran into the issue of the drives having different sector sizes. Namely, my older HDD had a sector size of 512, while my newer drive with 4096. I have tried different cloning software, from Macurim Reflect to Acronis True Image. Would there be any way for me to clone the drive? Or would I need to resort to reinstalling Windows on the new drive and manually transferring the data?

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Isn't it possible to change the sector size of the new drive using windows formatting tools? Just find the new drive in "This PC", right click on it, and in the dropdown menu, there should be an option that says "format".

I am pretty sure sector size is unchangeable. Also, checking the options only yields allocation size, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
