PLEASE HELP ME

ok so i bought a pc on ebay with a zotac mini  gtx 1050 2gb, 8gb 800mhz ddr2 ram, q6600 @ 2.40Ghz and a dell optiplex 745 motherboard. how bad is my bottleneck and do i need to upgrade my motherboard in order to put a different cpu in it and if i do need to what would be a good and cheap cpu motherboard combo? please help

Depends what processor you put in it. Tbh, I would upgrade your motherboard/cpu which would require a ram upgrade. How much did you invest in this rig?

What's holding you back with the current Configuration? that should be able to play most games at a playable framerate

Now if you have the money, I doubt that is the kind of components you will be getting. Because of this, why not just enjoy your PC as much as you can and stop worry about bottlenecks. Build yourself a brand new spanking PC when you have enough.

well i tried playing bf1 and on the lowest in the campaign i got like 35 fps and in bf4 i got like 40 on max in csgo like 90 max im afraid it wont run gta v and i want to upgrade it and i need to know how much the cost might be for a good upgrade

GTA should run fine tbh it's harder to run BF1 than it is t o play GTA This dude is running it and he's using a GTX 750 which is worse and 6GB of ram

I think the farthest you can go with a optiplex 745 is a q6600 same with the ram it's basically specced out for what it can do. The motherboard and cpu cant really be changed because dell has proprietary connections for the front panel but  you might be able to get a higher model dell motherboard that might be compatible with that case.

well if i need to i can get a different case too my budget for an upgrade is like 250 and im also saving up for drivers training

people seem to be ignoring the fact that theres a core 2 quad, and ddr2 in that system..

itll run things at a "playable" framerate, but its really holding you back, especially in cpu intensive games.

you might be able to upgrade the cpu to a QX9770 if you can find one cheap, but you wont do much better without a real upgrade

im not a super computer tech guy but i want to get a motherboard with an i5 and i would have to upgrad the ram to so ;(

Honestly he can get a a cheap i5 for like $50 and a mobo for it but he'll also need the case and psu

$45 for a decent psu, and there are some really cheap budget cases that work until he can get something better.

or get an sff psu and reuse the optiplex
