Dark Energon

Hey guys,

Finally completed my dream build, Code-named Dark Energon

Y'all Know i be playing R6 ;)

The case is an NZXT h440 with some truely amazing hardware inside.

Everthing is AIO liquid cooled, both gpu's are using the evga hybrid kit cooler. (Not a fan of the shroud they provide though, it's freaking ugly)

Below the GPUs is two 1tb samsung 950 pro's. They were my boot drive in raid 0 but the array recently failed and lost my data lmao #backtoAHCI

My most recent addition to the build, a 2TB samsung 960 pro m.2 nvme ssd ;)

Thank you, As do I! The FE cards are such good looking cards, it would have been a shame to tear down the entire cooler

Nice build. Never saw an M.2 that was perpendicular to the mobo before. Mine lays flat. Make sure those cables aren't touching it, they run as hot as a mini volcano. :o

Best Excuses:

#1(simple) "Well, I never liked that stupid thing anyway!"

#2(complex) "Obviously there was a flaw in the material, probably due to the inadvertent introduction of contaminants during the manufacturing process."

Yeah i know right! Asus really created a peculiar m.2 mount. i have the x99 deluxe so with it being the first or second generation of m.2 ssd implementation, they probably had a hard time fitting everything on the board. but who knows. What board have you got? And you needn't worry there's a good amount of clearance between that cable and the sdd

I have the Asus rog maximus VIII hero. My M.2 doesn't actually sit on the board, there's a short stand-off opposite the socket. So maybe 3/16 inch between it and the mobo. I worry a bit as to what it's doing to the components on the mobo beneath it though. Especially in the long term.

Yeah, probably, but it's a good excuse to mod some kind of cooling solution xD. Been thinking about it, but haven't made anything yet. I have some small copper blocks, but no longer really have the tools to mill them anymore (had to radically downsize recently). Still thinking about it when I'm bored though. Nice small project I could do in my apartment, since I no longer have a workshop. 9_9

Yeah I know what you mean, but I think that because of them glowing green it just stands out and adds more character

Nice build!

I wish companies would do a LOT more purple.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

Exactly! it's either Red, green or blue. So boring and generic.
