The road that is sourrounded with the trees is a like a tunnel vision, you can't see beyond them. The road is safe(trees are guarding it), but the field, which is off the beaten track, gives you freedom and thus a much clearer view of the bigger picture. But you don't have someone/something to show you the right direction. It wants to show the times that we see things like a tunnel vision when we need to think out of the box.

you could also see it as an journey of which you cant see the end, but as long as you follow the road, the trees will keep you save.
