I have an MSI H81-p33 board, and it pretty much works fine, other than the Ethernet port not working suddenly.  I figured, its probably bad luck, so i went and bought a USB to Gigabit Ethernet hub and used that.  However, that also stopped working after a few days...  Strangely enough, if i plug it into my Macbook, it works, but not on my desktop.  I'm stuck using an old USB to Wifi dongle, which is SUPER slow since i use this as my HTPC, and a backup server as well, and transfering files at 2-3MB/s is annoyingly slow (vs avg 70MB/s)

Can anyone help?  I"m not sure why ethernet port is dead, and my usb to ethernet isn't working either.  When plugged in, the Orange LED just stays on.

fyi

cable is fine, the switch, router, etc is all fine.  Tested ethernet, and ethernet hub with my mac, works fine.

Driver?

I remeber i used to have extreme problems with LAN on old ZH77-G41 with drivers, sudden disconnects, ethernet suddenly stopped working, on new B350 Carbon with extremely bad performance and running at 1/25 of my normal speed. I decided to fuck MSI.

i could try re-installing driver, didn't do that yet.  didn't think of that considering usb hub also stopped working... would driver issue affect that?

Get PCIE card with gigabit ethernet

i could, but i dont want to spend money if i dont have to.  i'll try the ethernet driver re-install, as i might as well, however, my main concern is that my USB Ethernet hub which functions properly, does not work with that pc... i'm not sure if another PCIE card may help at this moment.
