GPU HOT WHEN PLAYING PUBG

SmilesRising

i have a problem that only occurs when i play PUBG. when i play PUBG my GPU goes up to 100% load and hits 75'c all the time but this only occurs in PUBG and no other game. i can stress test my GPU and make it go 100% load but it doesnt hit 75'c. Why does PUBG do this?

Guessing its going to be an air flow issue. Pubg is very heavy on the CPU as well so if you are air cooling, you likely are getting some of the CPU air as well and not having great airflow through the case.

PUBG is a poorly-optimised game right now.  Please no all-cap titles.

Those are normal temps.

probably just a different workload, and like @legacy99 said, your CPU heats up the air in the case more, so that contributes to it.

what are temps in furmark? probably more than 75c I'd assume.

Considering the game is still in the beta stages, I'd chalk it up to poor optimization at the moment. Also, I have the same exact card and it does basically the same thing.

Turn fan speed up. Buy better case/fans. Water cool. Deal with it. Plenty of options.

i have a rad as intake on an overclocked cpu so you can imagine how much my gpu is choking on the hot air in the case xD

Odds are your CPU's thermal exhaust is bleeding into your GPU. This is to be expected since PUBG is pretty CPU intensive and you're using an open air video card. Regardless, 75c is a pretty good temp at 100% usage. If this bothers you, simply lower the graphics a tad and cap your FPS.

Crazy how people these days get freaked out by GPU Temps above 70°C. Seems like the never owned a graphics card from the old blower style era, when there werent any custom designs

Yep, pretty much. It wasn't too long ago that we had cards that would commonly run in the high 80c to low 90c range.

What gets me is how often people blame "poor optimization" for things like higher than "normal" temps.
