Hyperthreading for 4K gaming

Hi,

 

I know that 4K gaming is GPU bound has little to do with the CPU speed. However, I am wondering if that also applied to the number of cores and threads.

Having more cores and threads can help, but only to a certain extent. As you said its more of a Gpu bottle neck than anything. Having too little will greatly impact performance but having more than you need probably won't help to a justifiable extent.

depends on architechture, comparing core count/thread count alone is very meaningless. ie FX 8350 vs i7 6700k
