4K TV won't detect brand new RX 550

Mouse-Potato

Hi all!

Just finished up my HTPC with a Ryzen 5 pocessor and a RX 550 but when I turn it on my Panasonic 49DX600 wont detect it.

I tried plugging it into an older 1080P Samsung TV and it detects it just fine.

Also another weird thing that happend is that when I reboot the PC to the 4K TV I get the bios ROG symbol with Bios (POST), but after that nothing, i get a black screen..

Does anyone have the slightest idea of what I should do? The last time i had an AMD GPU was back in 2008, is there a setting somewhere i need to enable?

Thanks!!

Well it looks like my new hdmi cable was dead, I swapped it out with an older hdmi cable I had lying around and it works...

4k will only work with hi-speed hdmi cables i believe. look on the side of the "dead" cable and see if it's hi speed. if not, then it would never have worked

Also, I find you always have to change the input settings for the input you have the PC on. It's always in a weird unexpected spot though. I have to google it every time with my samsung TV because I can never remember where that weird menu is so yea google is your friend.
