Hi guys,

Pretty new to this so please do forgive me if this is in the wrong section. I am looking to build a new Gaming setup, now for the pc I was looking at going with a 1080ti ad i7 7700K. However there were a couple of hiccups I hit. For the past few weeks I have been conceited on my decision to go this far High-End. Confusing me about the monitor choice and graphics card. Along with this system I am going to have the Xbox one X and PS4 Pro hooked into the Monitor of choice (Along with a hdmi splitter most likely). The main questions I have as of right now are:

Is 4K gaming worth it? E.G is it more enjoyable than 1440p, is it more fluid and immersive?

Is 4K at high/med better than 1440p at ultra?

For my monitor choice I am conceited between the predator X34A and R.O.G's competitive offering, which would be better for the whole suite of gaming?

Would I be better off waiting till next year?

Could you recommend a capable HDMI switch? This is the one I am considering: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SMARTOOO-26041-18Gps-HDMI-Switcher/dp/B06XC2VZGR/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503540918&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=4K+HDR+Hdmi+Switch&psc=1

Also how would I run audio? It would all need to come through one 2.1 ch speaker system (Lame yes I know a 7.1ch system is in the room just don't have time to set it up atm) which has one line in connection. Thanks

Thanks for the detailed parts list, I'm not too fussed about the specific pieces, more about 4K gaming vs 1440P at 144hz, also which would be better for all round media consumption. How would a switch work and would i need a high bandwith switch for 4k HDR on the xbox one to my display? and how would i develop an audio solution.

Is this a general rule or perosnal opinion? im hoping for 4k at 60hz plus. Media consumption is also a concern. I practically live on my pc.

This is by far what I have seen and heard on the interwebz.

I can't remember one post saying that 4k60 was better than 1440p144.

Personally though, I'm running some random 1024x1280 and 1440x900 monitor, so yeah. :P

There aren't any 4k monitors that aren't 60hz (last time i checked)

What would be the best 1440p monitor at 1440hz? preferably 34inch or lowest 27inch and anyone know about the hdmi splitter stuff?

I would just use HDMI and have like one of those controller boxes then.

Personal preference. Best would be for you to actually see them.
