so.

this isn't your "the pictures wont load for (integer) seconds"

this is "Windows 10 desktop icons physically take a good 2 minutes to appear"

mind you, win10 gaming pc gtx 1050 (ayy,i ain't got no money).

some days, "wo hoo, 9 second boot (jk like 30 seconds) and into YouTube we go!

other days, "logged in, aaand crap" (so like two minutes later), *poof*, "sorcery"

patterns:

if you open a program with the cursor, they (the icons) will never load

icons appear in "Desktop" folder

taskbar does load, along with its programs

 

so help me pc master race

I would suggest creating a new Windows user account to see how fast the icons load when logging into that profile. If they load fast, it's very probable that your user profile's icon cache is corrupted. If this is the case, use the cache rebuilder from http://www.thewindowsclub.com/icon-cache-rebuilder-for-windows-10.
