I'd need an 8 pin to 8+6pin adapter, would it work?

Paired with what CPU and CPU overclock? It might cut it close but depends a lot on which CPU preferably with no CPU overclock.

G4560, can't OC on it.

You can. I run an i5 2400 and 980 Ti off a CX450M. Though what year CX is it? The 2017 ones are the only ones that are any good.

There's no last-gen CX450. They use different wattage number schemes.
