<$100 Headset?

I searched through the forums looking for a topic that I could make my choice on for a headset, but could not. Too many topics, with too many opinions. So I thought I would make this much less vague,m in hopes of getting a more select-able recommendation.

My budget is $100 or less.

I am not an audiophile, my current headphones are sennheiser HD 202's, cheap pair of headphones and they sound fine to me.

Needs to have a mic. (not the modmic)

I have been looking at the Sibera V2's, but am open to others.

Any suggestions?

Tbh I don't like the "all headset threads to the peripherals forum" that has been going on here lately (and they get moved back anyways) but if you don't care about sound quality in really starts to look like a gaming peripheral instead of an audio product.

So if you indeed don't really care about sound quality, just base your decision on looks, comfort and features. Something like the Siberia V2 looks like a great option, since I heard it's very comfortable and the mic is decent.

I hope we can still make you buy a good pair of headphones and a mic, since IMO it's the superiour choice. Better quality in both, maybe more wires or something, but it's worth it.

Panasonic RP-HTF600-S are good headphones for under $35 and you could always pair with a zalman clip on mic or modmic if you can wait. Dem cables though.

Enjoy those tacos now, for in 1000 years they will be illegal... eh Ha Ha Ha! I think we all know why.

@Kaasgeelheid I see your point, not sure what I was expecting from this thread. I was just thiunking someone here had a solid opinion about what a good pair of headphones for under 100 bucks would be. I made this thread because I can never find one or two solid answers, just a bunch of people with so many different opinions. Which makes me think it really is up to personal preference?

I also want to note that I do not like the mod mic or the equivalent, not because they aren't good but I would like the headset to be a all in one option for simplicity. Good sounding headphones are important, I don't want to spedn $100 for no quality in the sound. I just stated that I am not an audiophile, so the sound doesn't need to be precise.

Well headsets are peripherals, go look at your local best buy. They are under the peripheral section. They are not equivalent to headphones in anyway.

Who doesn't care about sound quality? Makes no sense.

If you want good sound, youll need seperate mic and headphones. There's no such thing as a headset that sounds good (minus things from sennhesier/beyer).

You should pick up the Blue snowflake and AKG k240/Superlux 681 if you want "simplicity".

Thanks all for your time. I think I chose, just because Kaas was right about sound not that important. Just looking for features, and ones I like with good sound.

I originally said it as a retort of last resort to an OP who was being unreasonable and rude, so I agree it has been blown out of proportion lately. No reason to throw people to the wind straight away when it's so much more helpful to educate them a tad.

I certainly know what you guys mean, even though there's no Best Buy in the Netherlands, but it was like rejecting people from this subforum, just because they asked a question about headsets. Don't know if that's the best way to describe it, hope you know what I mean.

I only tell that to people who are rude and won't listen to advice. I always try to suggest headphones and mic first.

No, you've definitely told people to take their headset questions to peripherals as your first post. More than once.

Really? Hmm, oops. I might have just not wanted to type the same thing 20 times that day.

Then let someone else post the same thing 20 times. ;)
