PSU HELP.

Is 520W really enough to power my system?

 

gtx 1060 3gb zotac.

I5 7400

Ripjaws 8 gb

 

 

I've been experiencing sudden shutdowns lately and got frustrated, removed my videocard and the sudden shut downs disappeared. I currently have Seasonic s12 520W.

please enlighten me what to do next. should I buy another psu or is there a remedy for this ( tried to disconnect the other fans of my case aswell, didnt worked)

Well, I've seen systems with 1070s and i5 7600ks using similar sized PSUs, so I don't think it's a problem with power capacity.

ya you will be fine you would even be fine with a 450 watt

my 4770K and GTX 1070 system rarely pulls more than 350W.

 

I'd assume that this is either a hardware fault in the GPU, or maybe something in software is causing it to shut down.

also, it's not triggering overcurrent protection, right? (when the PC shuts down, it doesn't need to be unplugged fully before turning on again, right?)

yep it doesn't need to be unplugged, any suggestions?
