GTA V freeze then crash with corrupted data

Billy_Mays

I just was playing GTA V and it crashed and Im wondering why it froze for a couple of seconds and I noticed something odd that there was a bunch of pixels in one area and that appeared early when I was playing and they despaired when moved the camera but it was the same colour as the building it was on, my drivers are up to date (checked today) the version I have is 385.25 for my GTX 770 2gb and the Vram limit is far away and the settings I have are meduim and noting with the MSAA or the TSAA and the rest of my specs are FX 6300, 8gb of ram so what couldve made it crash

And steam isnt open even thought it was open when I launched GTA V

Usually when you have a gpu artifacting it's either running hot or has bad vram or a bad overclock. Drivers will cause instability or crashes but not artifacts.

are you overclocking anything?

also , i'd recheck those temps right now vs whenever you last checked them , and make sure whatever testing application you are using is actually loading them 100%

I never have OCed anything but the GPU was bought used and the max my CPU was at is 59% and at 57c and the GPU 57c at 91% load

put them both at 100% for several minutes , if the cooling systems are working correctly they should be able to stay well under 70. otherwise the temp can run away real easy on heat pipes that aren't very long.

Other than that you can try pulling drivers back to some older versions. Not every new driver improves every single system config

Furmark has got my CPU up to 82c full load and Aida64 doesn't properly work as soon I try to it says error for CPU and FPU and

Yeah thats not exactly a great temp. I would figure that temp would happen if the heat sink was only aluminum with no heat pipes and not too good thermal paste.

for the gpu do a firestrike pass and that should be enough load.

I repasted it a month ago since it was thermal shutdown and the TIM I use was the stuff that came with my M9A
