so, I have an old Samsung laptop that originally game with xp and I later installed lubuntu, it worked fine and bought some life back into my laptop. I recently obtained a version of windows 7 so I thought I would install that. I went through the regular processes of change the boot order, but when the computer rebooted it went straight back into lubuntu. the laptop has 1gb of ram and a Pentium M cpu. the laptop has got a version of phoenix bios if it helps. thanks

Is the DVD even bootable ? I would highly recommend using a USB instead of a DVD since it's faster.

Also, when the laptop boots tap escape or f9 or something else. It depends on your model of laptop. You won't automatically go to the boot screen, you have to press some key. Look for the text on the BOIS Splash screen.

Try esc , F9 , F12 and del keys.

Can't help much without the model number.
