I appreciate it is over budget, I'm just stating that BDO doesn't scale well with cores, but your usage is a good match for the 12 thread 1600. I'm not sure why you would say a 7700k is overkill when a Ryzen 1600 is 2 more cores/4 more threads ;) - Your build looks good, with the money you saved on windows I would look at a different PSU and possibly a bigger SSD. Also keep in mind if you want to SLI then you need an X370 board, the B350 only offer crossfire.

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor  ($197.65 @ OutletPC)

Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory  ($126.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial - MX300 275GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($99.88 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($46.88 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition Video Card  ($464.98 @ Newegg)

Ahhh I see, well as long as I can play BDO at a reasonable frame rate it should be fine. Which PSU should I go for another corsair or would that change?

Hello I am building my first PC ever and just wanted some opinions on the matter. Ideally my budget would be 1K included the OS but will be willing to slightly go over if I must. The current plan I have is: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6DHZYr and as per recommendation I was thinking of swapping GTX 1060 for a used 980ti but I didn't find much on Craigslist. As far as case fans go I have two Noctua NF-F12 PW LTT edition cooling my laptop I can use for the case; will it be enough? This will mainly be for school but like any normal person I will game on the occasion (Black Desert is probably my most intensive game). As far as content creation goes, I do photo edit/video edit quite often and as far recording as long I can play and record at a decent quality I am fine with it. Last thought, I got used to having two monitors (my laptop screen being one of them) is there any cheap $30 monitor I can pick up? I already have a decent IPS monitor, or so I like to think.

One I dont really trust MSI reputation on most things, asrock has pretty solid mobos, other than asus and a few others I having the Asus Crosshair VI with a 1700. I would choose the asrock for a b350 if I had to go with one, the ram was not lpx or flare or anything amd compatible right now so you would be stuck with 2133 mhz ram like I am for now, and the case the one that you had aesthetics wise didnt look smooth phanteks and few other companies have cheap options but wont downgrade air flow etc

Are you only trying via xmp? Is your bios based on agesa 1006?

Ok ryzen seems the obvious choice here just keep in mind BDO isn't well multi threaded so a 7700k would do much better

I think that 7700k would be over budget and a bit over kill. I was just told from a classmate to go for 250 GB SSD and a 600+ W PSU in case I wanted to run SLI in the future. Any recommendations there?

Get the Asus Strix B350-F mobo, MSI mobos are junk

Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM

I don't see that you have a cpu cooler in there. Unless you gonna use the stock one, I suggest you get one, Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO is only like 25 - 30 dollars, so would be a good fit.

I'll probably stick with stock cooler for now, I pick up smite upgrade on holidays when they might be on sale.

Ahhh I see, well as long as I can play BDO at a reasonable frame rate it should be fine. Which PSU should I go for another corsair or would that change?
