Minecraft feels choppy

I am running modded minecraft on my computer, and although I am getting constant 60fps with no dips at all according to in game fps counter and nVidia fps counter the game feels choppy. I am using a 60hz monitor and I limit my games fps to 60.

Are you getting screen tearing? Do you have v-sync on? What CPU/GPU do you have? How much RAM have you allocated to minecraft?

Its been a very long time since I've played, but sometimes v-sync doesn't work. Try disabling it.

60fps isn't enough for minecraft for me, i need at least 70fps to make it feel playable and around 150+ is nice, 300 is what i really want though (vanilla!)

No. Yes. i7 6700k, gtx 1070, 6gb

Any reason you have so much RAM allocated? Also try disabling v-sync as others have said.

I am running a really heavy modpack so I thought more ram would be helpful
