Questions about storage

I don't think I could ever fill up 4TB. I've had this PC with all the major games on it and I've scraped using 1.5TB total. I was thinking 500GB SSD and 3TB HDD (cause 1TB is $10 more). I just want to make sure I can fit a reasonable number of games on an SSD, 256GB was not really enough.

I'd be paying $260 to go from 500GB to 1TB. Is that worth it? Or would 500GB be enough? Just Battlefield 1 alone uses up 60GB, Fallout 4 uses 80GB. I just don't want to run out of space. I may get 1TB but I'll definitely get a massive HDD, prob 3TB.

I think I would get a SL308 or 850 EVO for the SSD, and then a P300 or Barracuda for a 3TB HDD. Whatever is cheaper.

So I'm planning a super build probably around summer of 2018 (by the time I get the money saved), and I'm debating a full SSD setup. In my current PC I am using over half of my 2TB HDD (800GB left), and I have roughly 100GB left on my 256GB SSD. If I were to get a terabyte SSD for games, and another SSD for programs and the OS, I'm unsure the size of the second SSD. Would I be better to have a bigger SSD for a few select games, partition it for the OS and programs, and use a HDD for the rest?

This is all a while away but I just want a general idea of what you guys think!

Also if anybody is bothered, this is the PC. It's mostly placeholder stuff for now, but I'm planning a 4K 60+ FPS build with the new Volta Nvidia cards coming out sometime in 2018 (presumably?).

Thanks for any advice!

Have you considered an M.2 Drive for os and other essential programs, a decent sized ssd for your favorite games and an HDD for everything else?

Don't use an M.2. drive unless you use your PC to video edit or render to make a living. Otherwise it's not worth it.

Quote me next time. I think you should get a 500GB SSD and a 4TB HDD for everything else.
