what would be the best "program" for mining?

I've never mined but thought about it what risks are there? any advice? and what program should I use?

which ever you think is better I'm using my basic gaming computer I use almost everyday (schools about to start and ima move soon so I won't use it that much) uh fx 8300 16 gbs of ram 93rd 460 oc 1 tb wd blue hard drive

You would likely be GPU mining and at the moment its not worth it. The power consumption vs / profit is basically a wash.If you wanted to do it regardless use a program called NICEHASH let it run its benchmarks and it will automatically pick what you should be mining, then it will payout in bitcoin if / when you make some.

With an old pc like that you would only lose money, but if you don't care about that nicehash fast and easy cause they pay out in btc and it auto selects the best coin to mine. Alternatively you could try burstcoin mining (HDD mining) where you only need hdd space and ofc hdds consume a whole lot less than a graphics card.
