Right now I have an i5 6400, 8GB of ram (2x4GB) 120gb SSD, 2TB HDD, with a G1 SNIPER Crossfire motherboard, Zotac 750ti and Linus' personal green sleeved 600w from OCZ. The 600w has 4 12v rails running at 18A each.

Now in a month or so I want to buy a new graphics card, probably new PSU as well. Then also later I want to buy a cheap ultrawide (2560x1080) I play a lot of Overwatch, PUBG, CSGO, and sometimes older titles like GTA 5 and Battlefield 4. I don't want anything below 60 fps and want high settings in majority of games. What is my best option? GTX 1070?

Also what cheap good power supply is there? My case is a Fractal Define R4 with no window so fancy cables are not a big thing for me. But still all black would be nice incase I do change up my case later. Nothing over $90 CAD.

Seasonic S2II 620W

a GTX 1060 (6gb) or 1070 will suit your needs fine

you can also look into the new RX Vega viedo cards as its probably in the same budget

Note: if you decide to get RX Vega you will def need a good PSU as those things suck up a lot of power

In a low to mid-range system like that there is nothing wrong with your current PSU. its not great, but it'll certainly get the job done without much issue.

as far as 60hs gaming on a 2560x1080, yes definitely a 1070 if that is your desire with ultra settings. GTA V may struggle slightly if you turn the settings up too high, and PUBG is going to be a stuttery mess with almost any kind of hardware from time to time until that game gets properly optimized and out of its beta. Honestly a 1060 6GB would likely do you just fine in most instances here, but if you want to stay above 60 fps all the time, and have settings as high as possible, as well as be ensured for some future titles, then a gtx 1070 would be the way to go. if you could already afford a gtx 1070, and if you opt out of getting a new psu you may not need, you could maybe even go all the way to a gtx 1080 since they're not tremendously more expensive than a 1070.

All that being said, if you're waiting to buy in a "month or two"... perhaps wait for black friday sales? you can usually get redonkulously good prices during that time on computer components. Volta should also be here (according to rumors) late this year, or early next year.... holding onto your money if you don't NEED the upgrade may be the better play if volta is that close to your time of purchase. You would get a lot more performance for your money if you bought volta over pascal. there are also rumors of a pascal "refresh" between then and now (basically same pascal stuff but with slightly higher clockspeeds).... buuut that is all rumors and speculation at this point... no actual concrete information on the matter. Black friday is a good bet though if you're already waiting until late September/October to buy anything.

I have a 1070 and I run easy 144hz 1080p in any game (ecept arma 3) on medium-ultra settings. My CPU is a 6600k oc to 4.7ghz. Idd say get a 1070 but my only concern is that it's not a great match for your CPU. Idd call it a bottle neck but it technically isn't... in some games my CPU doesn't bottle neck but rather limits the performance in heavy CPU games including, believe it or not, minecraft with some shaders installed. Dispite that I wouldn't  say not to get a 1070 because they are definitely the best card for your use (unless you look at a better psu for vega). I play pubg, gta 5, csgo and it all runs great on my setup.

In conclusion, get the 1070 and look at upgrading your CPU in the future. In the time being that CPU will not bottle neck your GPU preformance but it could improve your experience to upgrade. A 600w is plenty for a 1070 so I wouldn't be to concerned unless you look at vega (in which case you would be looking at upgrading a psu, gpu and CPU)

That word.... you keep using it.... i do not think it means what you think it means.

It means that the gpu is being limited by the CPU. I said it wasn't technically being bottle necked because it only happened in applications that affected the CPU heavily and that the gpu doesn't have to work hard in anyway.

I ment to say that that setup may not be best for a 1070 but it is still the best choice regardless
