Vega's rumored 70 MH/s is debunked

Looks like tweak town tested Vega for mining and shows it only getting 30.5 MH/s. we might be able to get get the Vega56 after all.

If your looking to upgrade Id get them early since these prices seem to be a launch only price according to WCCFTECH.

That's good news, but 30MH/s is still higher than Nvidia cards of the same price can offer (through the power draw should set some miners off).

I don't agree. I have a 1070 strix for gaming but I have done some mining on it. With a little tuning I push a easy 30MH/s on 65% power target.IMG_4302.thumb.PNG.09af625da8dae2cd320cb7a7ca053879.PNGyou can see that my average is not quite up there yet because I haven't mined at all today but the reported hash says it all.

After the price of Vega 56 stabilizes, it will be cheaper than a gtx 1070. Also, driver/software updates will also bump Vega's performance.

nvidia isnt cheating this time around, their clocks definitely go higher than stated even when not benchmarking such as gaming or rendering.

Perhaps the low mining performance was the same with GDDR5X which was initially bad at mining first. HBM2 offers loads more bandwidth. So for now gamers should grab vega before it gets good with mining.
