socially relevant topic

Hey everyone,

 

So this year i'm going to be in my last schoolyear before going to a university (17,5 years old now) and for English i need to do an oral exam this year.

Now i already have a relevant topic (game addiction), but i still need to have another one.

Does somebody know a fun/relevant topic i can talk about, maybe tech, maybe something else.

Talk about networking and how it relates to gaming? Latency, ping, etc. and different types of connections such as wifi vs wired and their impact as well.

(I mean actual networking, not social networking or anything)

Good news is the more techie and more in depth you make it, i imagine the professor will care less and less and just give you a good grade from seeing your passion shine through

Tech:

• dangers of public wi-fi and how it should be avoided at all costs unless extremely necessary. 
• Why landlines are still better for making phone calls than most smartphones (unless carrier supports VoLTE and HD Voice) 

Non-tech

• The history of Korean War, the armistice agreement and the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ)

With gaming addiction and mmorpgs I had a nice talk with one of our local priests, who has no experience at all with online gaming. 

 

For example it is a chance for people with social angst to connect with others, which they wouldn't do outside of their own 4 walls. Friendships and relationships that perhaps arise out of that.

History is pretty good, sentences can get complex.

 

I'd keep it simple though, make a goal that's easily achievable.

How about AI (artificial intelligence) and the dangers/benefits it possesses?
