Guest

Hi,

Today, I reset my PC and after reinstalling finished, I went to Firewall, it appears that my settings may harm my PC, so I hit restore.. after it restores  the warning appears again.

Thanks.

so, thats not what you think it is.

that the base firewall type for your network.

you'd have a choice between public, work, home, and i think something else..

the only difference is how the firewall behaves.

that should be able to explain it better :)  it also walks you through how to change it

the only time you should see "discoverable" is when your looking at bluetooth settings, or if you're looking at the router config.

we're gonna need screenshots to know wtf your talking about

I don't know if its same in Win7/8 but in 10

Start Menu type "setting"

"Network & Internet"

"Ethernet" on left side

Click on the network you want (i only have ethernet but I am PURELY guessing your wifi appears here too.)

"Make this PC discoverable" toggles between Public or Private/home on Sharing center

Windows has different settings when you connect to networks. You honestly shouldn't worry about this.
