Ge72vr vs gl702vm - 120hz with or without g sync

Hi guys!

I've narrowed it down to 2 choices.

1. Msi GE72vr - 120hz w/1060 3gb

2. Asus GL702VM - 120hz+gsync w/1060 6gb (+thunderbolt)

Both have 7700 cpu.

The msi is 250 usd cheaper, but lacks gsync. Weight, size etc is not an issue.

I want a 17" that's basically going to be sitting on a desk all the time, but unfortunately a desktop is out of the question.

I've read thermals are better on the msi. Thermal Problems have been had on the asus, but apparently bios updates etc. Have fixed them: apparently a gl702vm owner on asus forums says this:

"The fps drops are completely gone and without any tweaking the laptop runs in the mid 80's.

However, if you use some undervolting and disable turbo when gaming you can further improve your temps down to the mid 70's."

I believe the msi sits at 75ish degrees under load, but I may be wrong.

Any suggestions? Anyone who owns either laptop? Is 250usd worth g sync and 1 thunderbolt?

Get the Asus. Better features, better specs, and I personally like Asus and their ROG laptops more than MSI's.

I would definitely go with the ASUS. Better specs, and i've personally had awful experiences with MSI support with laptops.
