I'll be using pc for both gaming and working and i'm already capping 8GB
Since i'm studying engineering (electronic), i'll be doing some CAD work (mostly pcbs and similar stuff)

In this case, try your luck with 2400MHz 32GB on two sticks.

So i'm going to build a ryzen itx pc, and i'm thinking on getting a 32gb kit (2x16gb).
My question is if i should go with low speed ram (2133mhz) and overclock it or go with high speed ram (3200mhz)

I know ram is expensive, and i'm trying to get the best bang for buck

HIGH SPEED, ryzen benefits so much from higher speed ram.

i know that, my concern is mostly due to price and i don't want to spend more than 250$ just solely for ram

Do you need 32GB?

If you have the cash available, go for the 3000MHz kit, though you may run into rank issues with Ryzen.

You could just get the 2133 ram and over clock it.

Well not much...
I could go with 16GB... but I just want to future proof so i won't need to buy a 32GB kit and then sell the 16GB

But do you need 32GB of RAM? There are only a handful of games that can take more than 10GB. Are you a graphics designer or video editor? Do you do CAD work?

Unless you're doing heeeeeaavy workstation-type stuff, you're rarely going to max out 16 gigs.

RAM is an easy upgrade. Just go for 16 right now and grab more when you need to, and put the money you save into either buying faster RAM, a better graphics card, or maybe going from an R5-1600 to an R7-1700.

Current Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

GPU: RTX 3080 Ti FE

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Tuf X570 Plus Wifi

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X53

PSU: EVGA G6 Supernova 850

Case: NZXT S340 Elite

Current Laptop:

Model: Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HS

GPU: RTX 3060

RAM: 16GB @3200 MHz

Old PC:

CPU: Intel i7 8700K @4.9 GHz/1.315v

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A
