Hello everyone,

I'd like to buy a projector for my student room so I can watch movies/play games on a huge screen study better but I can't put a screen on my walls (the landlord refuses) and I don't want to use a stand because I don't have enough floor room.

But my wall is about 200 wide by 140 inches high and is painted in white

Can you recommend a good projector for maximum 700€ (800$US)

My requirements would be :

- 1080p bare minimum

- 16/9 aspect ratio

- at least 2 hdmi ports

- an audio output (either optical or 3.5mm jack)

- lowest input lag possible, as I wish to play games on it (mainly ps4, but also to plug in my gaming pc for games I play with a controller)

- I don't really care about 3D and speakers

I actually found a projector - Optoma HD142X - that I think could apply to my requirements, but I'm not sure about the projection quality on a wall instead of a screen

Keep in mind that this would be my first projector and that I don't know anything about them

To be clear, I don't plan to buy a tv because I'd like at least a 65 inch display, but I can't find any under 1000€ (1100$US)

As far as I know, a laptop screen would be better than a projector for gaming.  But then again, you're on console tho, so it should be fine since the eye can only see 24 fps.

Oh don't worry, I use my acer xb281 (4K gsync) for most of my games.

The projector would only be for watching movies and tv shows, and to play controller games from my couch

projectors won't be good for games due to latency but Is the BenQ HT2050 also will give you a good experience if you want more features.

I know the latency won't be great, be in comparison with a tv? Is it higher than 20ms?

And this benq is too expensive for me

it will depend on your exact setup, yes in some cases.

It would just be a PS4 plugged in with hdmi

Look at the optoma gt1080e.

It's on my wishlist right now.

And for what I know a good projector.

Short throw so great for small rooms like college housing.

Thank you, I’ll probably pick this one if I can afford it
