Ryzen 7 CPU led on

Hey I built my first PC and when it didn't post i notice this red led so i checked the mobo manual and its the led light for the CPU so i double checked i installed it right double checked all cables and standoffs and still didn't work then tried with single dimm in all 4 lots am i missing anything or is my CPU DOA.

also all case fans work and the CPU fan works and the psu works fine and the GPU lights up and appears to work

im running

ryzen 7 1700

stock cooler

gigabyte  ax370 k3

g-skill rip-jaws 16gb kit

intel 600p 512gb ssd

2tb barracuda

evga sc2 1080ti

evga g2 750w psu

No post and CPU LED lights up? Seems like a dead chip yeah.

Take the CPU out of its socket and check pins.

I'd say RMA.

Reseat your CPU.

Check all power cable connections and be sure to reseat all of those. ensure your 8 pin EPS connector, 24 pin ATX connector, and appropriate PCIe power connectors are all attached (and even if they appear to be, unplug them and re-connect them anyway).

Clear your CMOS. In very rare cases a motherboard can sometimes come without the natural stock settings applied (especially if its a refurb), which could manifest as a boot issue.

There is a clear cmos thing on thr mobo aswell as the battery does it matter which method i choose to use?

@Zyndo thanks for the help i followed what you said and something worked

im coming from an amd a6 6300 and a (oem) gt 705 so my ryzen 7 with a gtx 1080ti is awesome
