MrSlyFox

Hi guys,

I am looking into building a new gaming machine to replace my now ageing machine. Wanting to make it something cool without going over $2000 NZD if I can help it.

Looking for some opinions

The best gaming build would consist of a Core i7-7700K and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 TI. Motherboards don't make a difference for performance.

It does sound like a beefy build, but I also need to factor in the other components into the cost and if you add both those together I have no money for any other parts lol

You can have both of these components as long as you don't spend a lot of money on aesthetics such as RGB.

Not in the land of the kiwis. A 7700K costs ~$500, and a 1080 Ti costs ~$1100

:)

A 1080 TI might be overkill. How much is the 1080 over there?

I don't need the thing to be a nuke, I am happy to have it be around the hi mids for power. I still have to get a case, ram, hdd(s), cooling, psu, mobo, os as well as the cpu and gpu. Fyi 2k in nz is about $1475 usd
