Editing pc with 1600

First post.

 I'm building a  Computer with a friend and I got leftovers  from my PC: gtx1050ti

       Low clocked ddr4 ram (8GB)

       Power supply 

 

he is a content creator so he uses lots of premier and after effects

we are on a 700 dollars budget not including what I have gave him. 

Im planning on a r5 1600

with a b350 mother board 

and a nzxt s340 case. 

And an additional 8GB of ram? 

What do you all think?

Not bad. Case could be cheaper to save cost and make sure you get a decent PSU. 16GB RAM if possible.

Is the ram speed important. Cause  the 8 gigs from my system is 2133. Should I dump it and get a new set of 16 gigs with higher clock??

Yes because Ryzen likes fast RAM because the infinity fabric is tied directly to memory speed.

Faster RAM helps but I would put priority on the 16GB slow RAM rather than 8GB of fast one. Especially for editing.
