This is the first real gaming build I'll be doing. I've gotten some improvements off the forum but I'd really like to ask for critiques once more before making any final decisions.

The list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XrJ2Cy

I already own the GPU so that can't be changed, but everything else is up to be switched. I'd like a lot of room for improvement without having to make a whole new build, space for more RAM and another GPU would be nice, so I think I'd want a better processor, but I'm not sure. I'd like to keep the price between $900-$1250. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

it looks good to me. but honestly you shouldn't end up doing the upgrades you're speaking of. by the time you get to them much better hardware will be out. on top of doing SLI/Crossfire being a bawlers only thing since the gains from it are disappearing more and more with every new game release.

but that's only my personal experience because i refresh my system after completely selling the old on. so i don't do "upgrades"

Primary System

  • CPU
    Ryzen R6 5700X
  • Motherboard
    MSI B350M mortar arctic
  • RAM
    32GB Corsair RGB 3600MT/s CAS18
  • GPU
    Zotac RTX 3070 OC
  • Case
    kind of a mess
  • Storage
    WD black NVMe SSD 500GB & 1TB samsung Sata ssd & x 1TB WD blue & x 3TB Seagate
  • PSU
    corsair RM750X white

Looks good.

Upgrades are not something your should sorry about. If you want faster base clocks then I would got for the 1600x,  but if your going to OC then stick with the 1600 you should be able to get 3.8 - 3.9 fairly easily with that cooler.

Oh and I would buy an 8gb usb stick create a windows 10 install usb drive using Microsoft tool and buy a key online for under $20usd.

seems solid but idk about the SSD and HDD. might be worth doing some research to see if they are reliable parts or not.
