I will be playing on a dell 60hz 1080p monitor until I get a new asus vg248qe 144hz 1080p monitor, OR should i get a 1440p monitor?

A 1080 can handle 1440 144hz. At 1080 144hz, save your money and grab a 1070 and take what you saved and grab a bigger SSD.

Personally I'd go with a 1440p monitor, but I like looks over speed.

Do you have tons of games? If the HDD is just for mass storage, I'd drop down to a cheaper HDD and get a bigger SSD.

Other than that, looks good.

Eh, not really no. It can barely get that at 1080p max settings. Title dependent, of course.

I've got a 1070 and it can handle most games(some AAA and others not) at 1440p into the 100-144hz range. At 1080p a 1080 is complete overkill and wasted gpu horsepower.
Most of my settings are high or ultra.

Most games, but not all. Which is why I said title dependent. Also, unless it's hitting 144hz on all games, not just into the 100's, it's not really maxed out. High =/= ultra.

No there definitely shouldn't be. You won't hit 144hz on every title though, unless you lower the settings.

Personally I heard the Gigabyte 1080ti is a jet engine when playing games. I'd look into other 1080ti's
