Need help building new PC for Landlord

Hello everyone,

My landlord is in need of upgrading his PC so he knows how fairly good I am at building a PC as I have built all my own,the only difference between me and my landlord is all my PC I built where built with higher end parts for higher end games....

I really only need 3 main things and that would be a Motherboard that supports Windows 10 Pro,For memory I say anything between 16gb or 32gb of memory and a CPU it can be ether AMD or Intel if I go with Intel I would like to go with Core I5 or I7.

I do not need the following items as I already have a 2tb Hard Drives for storage and a Solid State Drive for installing the OS on,I also have a computer case which is a Corsair Vengeance® C70 Mid-Tower Gaming Case — Military Green,I also have really good Power supply,I also have a DVD Writer that he uses all the time..I also have a good Video card for him which is all he needs for playing his games that he intends to play it is a Gecube x1950 pro PCI Express..

1. Budget & Location

The budget my landlord has for upgrading a PC is between $500.00 to $600.00 top.My location is in the USA. New York..

2. Aim

So his Aim for a new computer is for some light gaming such as Bejeweled,Solitaire,Facebook,and other WWW searching..

3. Monitors

Do not need a monitor..

4. Peripherals

Do not need any Peripherals or Operating System..

5. Why are you upgrading?

He wants to upgrade to the newest OS which will be Windows 10 Pro..The reason why is Windows 10 will not install onto his latest computer so he wants to upgrade to Windows 10 with new hardware..

I forgot to mention I prefer to buy from Newegg and this was one of the combo deals I found that might work what do you all think of this for a upgrade..

Kaby Lake Upgrade Kit Combo: Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8Ghz CPU, MSI Z270 GAMING M5 ATX Motherboards - Intel, CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3000MHz MEM

I'm confused. He plays very basic games.

  • Why on earth would he need 16GB, let alone 32GB of RAM?
  • An i5 is drastically overkill, especially an unlocked one.

I figured I just get something like this because if he would ever need something with a little more ram and for the price I did not think it was to bad of a deal..

It's a total waste of money. 8GB for what he needs is more than enough, hell he could probably get away with 4GB.

This is realistically all he needs:

  • G4560
  • 8GB RAM
  • Cheapest B250 motherboard

And even then, the processor is likely more powerful than he needs.

I'd use the IGPU on the Kabylake CPU. It will be more than enough for what the landlord is doing and probably more powerful than the gpu you have.

Current System Specs:

CPU: Intel I5-7660K; CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212X; Thermal Paste: IC Diamond 7 Carat; Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon;

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8gb) DDR4 - 2400; SSD Storage: 1TB Samsung 850 EVO; Storage: 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm;

GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 8gb G1 Gaming; Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Black; PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 650W 80+ Gold, OS: Windows 10 Home
