Why PUBG so successful?

ripper101

Okay, why is PUBG so successful? I've played 25 hours of the game myself and in my opinion, the game is not very good. I just don't understand how so many people are sinking so many hours into such a dull, repetitive, broken experience.

Repetitive? How? Its extremely luck based, even the best teams in the world dont even have a 50% win rate in public servers (Cant remember exact figure, about ~45% IIRC). It is still a bit broken, its in early access for a reason, wait until the end of the year for it to be finished.

It's not as repetitive as you might think , that's why people love it. You'll need more than 20~ hours to get an idea.

There is actually skill to it, patience is very important, as is awareness as you can die without actually seeing them.

It's so popular because it's a unique game. The only games that come close to this game are H1Z1 and the Arma 3 mod and they are both made by the same guy that made PUBG.

There's a high degree of luck, too, or at least in solo play. I placed #7 in my second game. I wasn't traversing the map for loot; I simply found a small hut that the play area conveniently continued to shrink around, and sat in it for a good 15-20 minutes.

Quad play is distracting especially when you have chatty teammates who insist on announcing every bit of loot they find.

There is also a lot of knowledge required. You need to know where to find the best loot, which weapons are good, etc.

Sure, but luck can negate all of that, too. You only need to be lucky enough to drop in a secluded area within the circle, find an AR w/ RDS and camp in a house.

man have you watched that chart for more than 2 hours ? it changes every week man. Either way popular extends to more than just "trending", just because a bunch of people are playing it now doesnt make it popular

There is only 3 games at this moment which have the Battle royale gameplay. Those are Arma 3, H1Z1 and PUBG. PUBG is the upgraded version of Arma 3 and H1Z1.
