Dishonest vendor or paranoia? [Pictures inside]

Hello people,

 

So I've bought a Corsair Vengeance 2x8 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM kit from Amazon, provided by a 3rd party vendor.

They claim on the webpage that their products are 'New'.

However, I can see some cosmetic degradation, namely the logo sticker and the metal contacts. I am not sure if these marks are normal, or if they are signs that they have been used. I would like the community's opinion on this.

I have not been able to test them, as I do not have an available testing platform.

in the middle for me, 50% dishonest and 50% parnoia 

 

they do have to test the RAM to see if its faulty or not, but something tells me that they would use a method that wouldn't wear out the contacts, my RAM didn't come with worn out contacts

 

the sticker must be a poor slap on the ram to me

have you seen the last image? the angles in the stick? That is not cosmetic... that brutal degradation

it isn't shot through the plastic... so I still say that ram stick is bent out of shape...

 

else its a protective sticker, like on most logos or hardware... you know the one that gives nerdgasms when peeled off slowly...

the logo almost looks like there is a clear protective film over it that needs to be removed, the pins look like they are half height, please remove it from the plastic, lay iy flat on the table and give us a good straight down shot.

Apart from the health and performance of the RAM, will that show if it has been used before i.e. up time?

That is actually the lens of my phone camera. The sticks are straight.

There is no protective cover. The scratches are on the logo sticker itself.

And the little scratch marks on the pins? (on max size) 

 

nope I wouldn't go for those sticks... never...
