Does Corsairs hydro h60 fit 1151?

On the box and in the store it says that the h60 will not fit 1151 but then I read somewhere on toms hardware that it indeed does fit 1151? I am confused.

Thanks.

How can you be so sure? Will it definately fit?? Why don't they just say so in that case?

Yes, im 100% sure. It might be that your unit was manufactured before Skylake was launched, but Im sure it's completely fine.

I am still insecure, your statements doesen't put my mind at ease sorry to say. Is there any way you can proove this theory of yours? :P Don't mean to make you feel dishonest but people say a lot of crap on the internet and they are often wrong.

I'd like to see/hear where did you see this claim that it wouldn't fit LGA1151. Its well known that all LGA115x sockets use same mounting.

  • 5 years later...

Knowing this is an old Post, I am using the Corsair H60 AOI cpu cooler on my Gigabyte GA-Z170X-GAMING 3 LGA 1151 Intel Socket ATX Motherboard since March 2018. It works fine. Recently, Nov. 2022, I purchased a used H60 (120mm) from eBay because the pump motor died last week. My desktop is on roughly averaging 4 hours per day, 365 days per year. I say 4 hours per day because in reality most days I am on my computer 6 to 12 hours. That is a lot of hours the Corsair H60 has to work to keep my i7- 6700K Skylake cpu cool.

Original cost was $80. Unable to buy new as Cosair company is Out of Stock and those who have a new H60 want $100 or more. I got an used H60 from eBay for $42 includes Sales Tax and S&H fee.
