Antivirus Software question

Hello LTT Forum,

I recently built a new windows 10 64 bit pc and am wanting to keep it running as well as it is right now. What is the best software to do that? I don't mind paying a for a decent antivirus but if there is a free os that works well and is trusted I'm open to that as well. Thank you all in advance for your suggestions I feel very lost right now.

Install Malwarebytes to do periodic scans and have Windows Defender (included in Windows) in the background. As long as you don't wonder into some shady sites, you'll be fine from most threats.

This is what i'm currently using and it works well BUT its not full proof.

Our company is ESET partners and I was using NOD32 long before that, Really great AV and sits nicely in the background.

Another alternative and I never though I would say this is the New Nortons.. I got given 3 Keys from a friend who works there and ran them since last year on my laptop, Gaming PC and GF PC and to be completely trueful I'm damn impressed, they have really changed around a KEK product into something that goes toe to toe with the best. Its light on the system (only took them 10 years) and has a good UI.

Redstone:

Obsidian:

MSI GE60 2PE i7-4700HQ / 860M / 12GB / WE 1TB / m.Sata 256gb/Elagto USB HD Capture Card

Razer Deathadder Chroma / Razer Blackwidow TE Chroma / Kingston Cloud2's / Sennheiser 429 / Logitech Z333

Anti-Virus I hear most people complaining about is Norton and McAfee.

Personally I like a mixture of Avast Antivirus and Malwarebytes (Both have free versions but offer paid versions)

I've heard most people are happy with Windows Defender

And of course most importantly just don't go to sketchy websites, click on sketchy links, download sketchy files or plug suspicious things into your computer and you should be just fine.

Amen to that - first and second part :)
