So here I'm on my 4 year old Logitech M215 mouse. To be fair, it still works great for what I use it but I was playing with the idea of MX Master for some time now. So long actually, that they revealed MX Master 2S. And since the original MX master had quite long run I think this might be the right moment to buy Master 2S since it will take a while for it to get obsolete. But the question is, is it even worth the price? Is the reliability good? I would want it to last at least 5-6 years since the M215 lasted 4 years and is still working. If anyone has any recommendation for competitive mouse with lower price tag feel free to share your recommendation.

I've got the MX Master (looks the same as the 2S though?), and it's an awesome mouse. No problems so far. Only had it for a few months, but it's a solid mouse. Even good for some gaming, though it's a bit heavy.

This is the other thing, difference in price between  original Master and 2S is 25€, is it worth the difference?

IDK. What's the difference? I know some people had the scroll wheel fail on the MX Master (I got a 3 year protection from Office Depot though), so maybe they fixed that?

If you have two or more devices that you use at the same time, you could use the 2S to seamlessly copy and paste files between them and use both seamlessly. Other than that, you get a smaller logo and a new color with the 2S. I'd go for the original

So I still haven't bought anything, difference is 15€ now. Is it worth waiting for Black Friday? Currently I can get 2S it for 82€.

If you can wait until Black Friday I don't see a reason not to save a couple of euros.  I'd go for the 2S just because of the look of it, although the original MX Master looks nice and the colour is "fine af", I still think that the Dark Grey looks much sleeker.  Maybe its just me.

Ok just for heads up, I just ordered MX Master 2S for 70€ from Amazon.it. I don't think it will go any lower.

I doubt you will be disappointed.  I've have 2 MX Masters, one I keep in the office the other in my travel case.  One of them was bought when they first came out and it is still absolutely perfect, minus wear to the buttons due to usage but that's pretty typical.

I quite fancy buying the 2S because you can order a white version however, I think I'll wait until one goes out on me.

I have the MX Master and I really like it. It's definitely more of a productivity mouse rather than a gaming mouse but the bump to 4000 dpi from 1600 dpi for the original would aid with accuracy. You'll definitely be pleased with the 2S. I bought my MX Master for $60 when the 2S came out because I personally couldn't justify the $100 price tag when the original was 60% of the cost at office depot yet just as good of a mouse, and also because I like the colors of the original better, but yeah, its great and you'll probably not be disappointed.

I have the original MX Master...I would've paid the extra for the 2S if I knew it was going to launch a few months after buying the original.

For me I'm used to mid level DPI (3000dpi). The 1600DPI of the MX master feels slow to me (I have the mouse sensitivity pushed to near max).

If you're used to 1600DPI though, there's not too much difference between the two aside from DPI.
